Introduce yourself, ask a question, or anything!

Hi, I'm Steve from Perth, Australia. I'm an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and have been involved in the international student industry in Australia for more than 10 years, and have taught English in Indonesia and Japan. I've also been a homestay host for dozens of students from many countries around the world.

If my experience can assist you in any way, just let me know and I'd be glad to give you advice or assistance.

Thank you.
Steve

Hey great idea! And nice website too!
I'm a homestay host myself and really enjoy meeting and talking people of different nationalities.
My husband and I are going to Japan and Korea early next year and I'll be staying with some of my previous homestay students, which will be a fantastic experience.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
Maria.

Hello Kaori. If you are already in Perth, you can get the Saturday's West Australian Newspaper, or The Quokka weekly paper. Both have a good list of share accomodation with direct contact info. There are also many public noticeboards in the CBD for private advertising (Such as Mr Samurai resturant, Work Study, and Internet cafe`s).

There is also a database link on my website: www.workstudy.com.au which you can read from overseas. but you would need to be in Perth when you apply as usually you need to meet the house owners before moving.

I hope this helps.

Hi Eiko, I assume you are currently at a language school in Australia... 1 month can be a very short time to improve your English skills. Make good use of the schools facilities such as the library, listening labs and social activities. I would recommend staying with a homestay family as this give you the opportunity to use and experience English in real situations. Also, a good private tutor can help alot by targeting your weakest areas as well as listening and speaking practice.
Hopefully this helps you.

I used to run a homestay house in Perth a few years ago before I moved to the country. I really miss the students. Does anyone know if I can still get homestay students in Geraldton?

It isn't hard at all to start making money online in the undercover world of blackhat ppc, Don’t feel silly if you don't know what blackhat is. Blackhat marketing uses not-so-popular or not-so-known ways to build an income online.

Hi Steve, hope you can help as all the information on the different websites is very confusing. I am Irish and hoping to move to Oz on a student visa, I am trying to find out more information about fees, I can see that tuition fees must be paid up front and range from about $5,500 to $18,000 per year depending on the type of course, but then when I search for courses they each have course costs, do I pay the course costs and the tuition fees??

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Joanne
